If you have a weight problem and know or suspect that you are addicted to food then here is something interesting to pick up on.

On Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 10:00 p.m. eastern time, the Oprah Winfrey Network is airing the opening episode of an 8 part “docu-series” called “Addicted To Food.”

The program will follow the stories of several people enrolled in a facility that specializes in the treatment of eating disorders. Through these people, the root causes of being addicted to food will be explored as well as treatment for those causes.

The maverick, “tough love” therapist who works with the people at the facility is Tennie McCarty, a highly acclaimed, professional addictions specialist. Her approach to helping people addicted to food is very unconventional, but effective.

And because this series is airing on the Oprah Winfrey Network, it will no doubt be high quality. Oprah herself has been very forthright over the years about being addicted to food. So it’s for certain that Oprah, being the owner of the Oprah Winfrey Network, will not put her name on something that’s less than top quality.

It’s likely that as the series progresses and the life stories of people unfold, there will be many painful moments. And it’s just as likely too that the end of the series will showcase triumphs and joy as people learn how to put their lives back together and are cured of being addicted to food.

So we recommend watching the Oprah Winfrey Network docu-series “Addicted To Food”. Yes, parts of it may be painful, but you’ll learn a ton of stuff and perhaps even become inspired in your own weight loss quest.
